The combatants are exulting in a mass killing that relief organizations suspect killed over thousands of civilians in the Sudan's city of al-Fashir in recent weeks.

A City Isolated from the World

Following their control of the community under siege for approximately an extended period, from late summer the paramilitary force advanced to consolidate its position and prevent access for the remaining residents.

Orbital photography demonstrate that troops began to erect a massive earth barrier - a built-up earthen wall - around the perimeter of al-Fashir, sealing off entry points and halting relief supplies.

While the blockade worsened, seventy-eight people were slain in an RSF attack on a religious building on mid-September, while the international organization reported 53 more were murdered in drone and cannon strikes on a refugee settlement in October.

"Why is this individual yet living," another combatant shouted. "Kill this person."

Space-based imagery taken on October 26th indicated to confirm that shootings were also conducted on the streets of el-Fasher, as reported by a study published by the academic research center.

An observer who provided testimony stated they had seen "numerous of our family members getting massacred - they were gathered in a single location and each one killed."

RSF Officers Try to Carry Out Public Relations

In the days that came after the massacre, RSF commander admitted that his troops had carried out "atrocities" and announced the incidents would be looked into.

Among those detained was subsequent to a investigation detailing his murders. Deliberately orchestrated and edited recording posted on the paramilitary's authorized messaging channel depict him being led into a detention area at a prison on the edges of al-Fashir.

At the same time, the paramilitary force and connected social media channels commenced attempting to reshape the story.

Updates depicting its militiamen handing out aid to residents were disseminated by some users, while the paramilitary's media office published numerous clips claiming to show the compassionate handling of military prisoners of war.

In spite of the social media campaign being deployed by the militia, their activities in el-Fasher have sparked worldwide anger.
