Previous boss Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired following Sweden's defeat against Kosovo on 13 October, a result which rendered direct progression in qualifying group unattainable

Current Standing

The Swedish team are currently last place of their qualifying group having only one point from four matches

Even if they fail to claim the runner-up spot, they could still take part in the secondary qualification because of their performance during the previous Nations League
